What else we're building

Our first development

An Old Textile Factory

The Whatley's were a family that housed a textiles facility in their backyard. Upon our initial tour, we discovered an incredible lot that had been completely covered in cement - grandfathered into the City of Atlanta.

Complementing the Past

We're excited to be working with a team that is enthralled by the home's history and is helping us keep the legend going. After a few months with the City of Atlanta permit office, we're excited to officially be continuing construction.

Moving into the Future

As we look forward to completing this project, we're hopeful the next owner will appreciate the details we've applied into this house and it's accessibility to the Washington Park, the Atlanta Beltline, and MARTA's Ashby Station.

Our first project here in Atlanta's Washington Park...

299 Flowers Place

Developed by businessman Herman Perry in the early 1920s, Washington Park was the first planned Black suburb in Atlanta . By mid-century, it had become a thriving hub for Atlanta's Black middle class, complete with schools, businesses, and offices.

Today, it's a neighborhood with deep roots and growing momentum.

More about us

Who is behind Better Built Blocks?

Better Built Blocks is led by a team of Atlanta natives and community advocates who believe that where you live should reflect who you are. We work at the intersection of real estate, technology, and neighborhood stewardship — helping individuals and families plant roots in Atlanta while ensuring that growth lifts the existing community rather than displacing it.

What is Better Built Blocks all about?

Better Built Blocks facilitates real estate transactions for clients moving into Atlanta, with a focus on transactional services that make the process clear, accessible, and community-minded. Our development work operates exclusively within the Beltline Overlay — a deliberate decision to build in historically underinvested corridors and prevent the displacement of long-time residents as Atlanta grows. We fund our development pipeline through YourHomeBuoy, our home services technology platform, ensuring that our community work is self-sustaining and not dependent on outside capital.

Why should you work with Better Built Blocks?

Because we are building Atlanta the right way. Every transaction we facilitate, every development we complete, and every block we improve is done with intention — staying within the Beltline Overlay, investing in technology that funds our mission, and treating displacement prevention as a non-negotiable principle.

“We need to draw lines in the ground and say, ‘The concrete stops here.’ That forces people to build in and up, rather than out – and there’s nothing wrong with high, dense urban environments as long as they’re planned correctly. They can be extremely livable. They tend to require less transportatio
